"Faded Blue", 80x60 cm, watercolor and acrylic on canvas.Whales feed deep and regularly rise to the surface to breathe. Their displacement circulates nutrients in the ocean. They then excrete droppings, which in turn will allow phytoplankton and other marine organisms to feed. Phytoplankton, a photosynthetic organism, absorbs about a third of the CO2 present in the atmosphere and releases about half of the oxygen present in our planet.Around 300,000 cetaceans die from fishing nets every year. A figure that does not take into account those who, even today, are hunted for various purposes.
